How Sitters Opt In

A sitter receives no messages from BébéSitter until she has signed herself up on our enrollment page.
Consent is collected on our own enrollment page, before any message is sent
BébéSitter never sends a text to a sitter who has not personally signed up. Consent is collected exclusively on our first-party enrollment page at bebesitter.com/sitter, where the sitter enters her own mobile number and checks a consent box that is unchecked by default.
This page exists to document that consent flow publicly so it can be independently verified by carriers and campaign reviewers. It plays no role in collecting consent.
About BébéSitter text messages
BébéSitter is a personal babysitting coordination app for parents. Parents add sitters they already know and trust. Sitters receive text messages only — they do not use the app and download nothing — and every sitter must give express written consent on our enrollment page before receiving any messages. This page documents the full consent flow so it can be independently reviewed.
All messages are sent from BébéSitter's registered number, (646) 566-5224.
The consent flow
Step 1 — A parent invites a sitter from her own phone
Inside the BébéSitter iOS app, a parent adds a babysitter she personally knows. The app then opens the parent's own personal messaging app with an invitation that the parent sends from her own phone. BébéSitter sends nothing at this stage. The parent cannot consent on the sitter's behalf; consent belongs to the sitter alone and is given in Step 2, on our enrollment page.
Step 2 — The sitter signs herself up on our enrollment page
The invitation contains a unique link to the sitter's enrollment page at bebesitter.com/sitter. On that page the sitter enters her own mobile number and checks a consent box that is unchecked by default. Enrollment cannot be completed without checking it. This is the exact consent language displayed beside the checkbox:
"I agree to receive text messages from BébéSitter about babysitting requests from [Parent Name]. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Terms: bebesitter.com/terms Privacy: bebesitter.com/privacy"
For every enrollment, BébéSitter stores a consent record containing the date and time, the IP address, the phone number as entered, and the exact consent language displayed to the sitter.
Step 3 — Only then does BébéSitter send its first message
After the sitter submits the enrollment form, she receives a one-time confirmation. No message of any kind is sent before this point.
