We collect only what we need to help you book a sitter you already trust — and we never sell it.

Who we are

BébéSitter ("BébéSitter," "we," "us," or "our") is a personal babysitting coordination app for parents and caregivers, operated by BebeSitter LLC, a New York limited liability company. BébéSitter helps you reach the sitters you already know and trust. It is not a marketplace, and it does not help you find new sitters. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to provide the service:

• Account information — the name and email address associated with your account when you sign in.
• Child information you add — first name, last name, and date of birth for the children in your care, along with any care details you choose to enter, such as allergies, medications, bedtime routines, and emergency contacts. Some of this is health-related information. You decide what to enter, and it is used to give a sitter what they need for a confirmed booking.
• Child photos — if you add a photo to a child profile, we store it so you can see it in your account. Child photos are visible only to you. They are never shown to a sitter, never included in any message we send, and never used for any other purpose.
• Sitter information you add — the names of the sitters you choose to add, so you can invite them to enroll.
• Contacts you select — when you add a sitter, the app can open your iPhone's contact picker. Only the contact you select is used, and only the name and mobile number from it. We never read, upload, or store your address book.
• Calendar information — with your permission, the app writes confirmed bookings to your calendar and reads your calendar to notice nights that may need a sitter. Your calendar is read on your device only. Its contents, and anything derived from them, are never sent to our servers.
• Sitter enrollment and consent records — when a sitter enrolls at bebesitter.com/sitter, we collect the mobile number they enter and store a record of their consent, including the date and time, the IP address, and the exact consent language shown to them. This record exists so their consent can be verified.
• Booking activity — the dates, times, and details of the requests you send and the responses you receive.
• Payment details you record — if you choose to note how you pay a sitter, such as a payment app handle and an hourly rate, we store that so it is ready when you need it. We never process payments between you and a sitter, and no money moves through BébéSitter.
• Subscription information — if you subscribe, your purchase and billing status, processed by the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
• Notification tokens — if you allow notifications, a device token used to send you reminders about your bookings.
• Basic technical information — standard app and device data used to keep the service working and secure.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the core service: to send booking requests by text message to the sitters who have enrolled, to relay their replies back to you, to confirm bookings, to write those bookings to your calendar, to send you and your sitters reminders, to manage your account and subscription, and to keep the service secure and working properly. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Your calendar

BébéSitter asks for calendar access for two reasons: to write confirmed bookings onto your calendar, and so that Bébé can notice evenings where you have plans and no sitter yet, and offer to send a request.

That reading happens entirely on your device. The events on your calendar, and any conclusion drawn from them, are never transmitted to our servers, never sent to any third party, and never used to train any model. You can change or revoke calendar permission at any time in the iPhone Settings app, under Privacy & Security, then Calendars. BébéSitter continues to work without it; only the calendar-related features stop.

SMS messaging

BébéSitter does not send a text message to any sitter who has not personally enrolled. A sitter enrolls at bebesitter.com/sitter, where they enter their own mobile number and check an unchecked consent box before any message is sent. How we share information

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing or promotional purposes. We share information only as needed to run the service, with trusted providers who process it on our behalf — for example, our text-messaging provider (to deliver booking texts to enrolled sitters), our hosting and database provider, our notification provider, and our subscription provider. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of people using the service. As stated above, text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

How we protect your information

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to keep your information protected.

Your choices

You can edit or remove the sitters and children saved in your account at any time. You can delete your account from Settings inside the app. Deletion is permanent and removes your account and sign-in, every child profile including any photos you added, every sitter you added, and every booking and its history. See Data retention below for the one record that survives deletion. Sitters who receive our texts can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, and may request deletion of their enrollment and consent record by contacting us at the email below. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting us at the email below.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete it.

One record survives deletion: the consent records for the sitters you invited, which are the proof that each sitter agreed to receive text messages. Your name is removed from those records, so what remains is the sitter's agreement and nothing that identifies you. We keep this proof because messaging regulations require us to be able to demonstrate that every recipient consented. A sitter may request deletion of their own enrollment and consent record by contacting us at the email below.

Children's privacy

BébéSitter is intended for use by parents and caregivers who are adults. Although you may add details about the children in your care to personalize bookings, the app is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or our website.
